Royal Caribbean - Freedom of the Seas

When it was launched in 2006, Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas was the largest passenger vessel to ever set sail. The ship continues to wow passengers today with its innovative use of technology and design.

The ship, the first in Royal Caribbean's Freedom class, can hold 3,634 guests (assuming 2 people per stateroom).

Inside the 160,000-ton vessel, every stateroom is enhanced by a flat-screen TV, wireless Internet capabilities, and boosted cellular connectivity. The ultra-Voyager class ship boasts the once breakthrough, now signature Royal Caribbean elements and amenities including a rock-climbing wall, the Studio B ice-skating rink, and the Royal Promenade. Relish a rejuvenating massage or get a complete work out in the ShipShape Fitness Center & Spa. Along with spacious staterooms and public areas, you'll enjoy impeccable service, top-notch entertainment, and endless adventures while at sea.

But that’s not all! Freedom of the Seas has taken cruising to new heights with the addition of even more elements. For example, there is the H2O Zone, a fabulous interactive water park featuring numerous water-spouting contraptions, such as a waterfall, umbrella jets, a cone spill bucket, spray cannons, spray loops and pipefalls, all decorated as colorful sculptures. Not too far away from the H2O Zone is another first-ever feature, the creation of two cantilevered whirlpools that are tucked into a bow-like window some 112 ft. above the water.

Freedom of the Seas was also proud to be home to cruising's first ever surf park! The 32-foot-wide by 40-foot-long FlowRider looks a bit like a swim-against-the-current pool that's been propped up on a 45-degree angle; a three-inch sheet of water flows up the incline to create a wave-like reverse waterfall. Riders can surf or body board against the continuous flow of water moving at an impressive speed of 30,000 gallons per minute.

About Us

Diana Whiteside

I am Diana Whiteside, owner of Cruise Holidays of Northwest Austin.

I have been a resident of Austin since we moved here when I was in second grade, so I consider myself a native. After graduating from high school in Austin I went on to Texas A&M and received my Bachelors Degree in Education. I returned to Austin where I became a teacher and raised my family.

During that time my family and I cruised often so it didn't take long for me to make a transition to becoming a business owner of a travel agency.

Though we are called Cruise Holidays of Northwest Austin, we plan other land vacations for our clients. Over the past eight years we have planned trips all over the world.
